Pastor Bobby J. Sims, Sr.
Pastor Bobby Sims, along with his companion in ministry and wife of thirty two years, Pastor Pauline Sims, under the inspiration and leading of the Holy Spirit in February, 2002, organized and is senior pastor of Anointed Body of Christ Church, Porterdale, GA.
The mission was to “Build Families of Faith.” The focus of their work is sharing the love of God and breaking the cycle of generations of families on governmental support as well as reducing the high school drop out rate through dynamic preaching and focused teaching which equip and inspire the people of God to begin to transform their thinking in order to work toward achieving a better life for themselves and their families. Many couples are being married and children are taught Godly principles.
Under his leadership, he has licensed and ordained several ministers and deacons. Most Sunday mornings, Pastor Bob is baptizing new saints and many who were churched and baptized without understanding earlier in life. He is a mentor and encourager to many younger pastors. He finds time to call them on Sunday morning with a word of encouragement. He has a heart for God’s people!
Prior to this work, he was appointed as presiding pastor of The Light of the World Christian Tabernacle International of Covington under the oversight of the late Dr. Jimmie L. Smith, Archbishop and presiding prelate of Light of the World Interdenominational International Association. Pastor Sims has been preaching for approximately thirty five years. He was licensed and ordained at Ebernezer Baptist Church, Albany, GA under the leadership of the Late Rev. Eddie Josey.
Pastor Sims is also an honorably retired veteran from the United States Army where he served his country in Europe, South Korea and Vietnam.
Pastor Sims is a native of Americus, Ga. He is the fifth born of seven children to the Late Pastor E. D. Sims and the late Mrs. Myrtis Sims. Pastor Sims and his wife are proud parents of a beautiful blended family of four wonderful children, Pastor Hamilton, Arrisia, Kelly and Pastor Bobby Sims, Jr. (Prophetess Angikita Sims). He is lovingly known as Granddaddy to wonderful grandchildren. He, his wife and three of their children have made missionary trips to Jamaica to preach and teach the word of God and provide school supplies for needy schools and children.
His motto is “ Walk by Faith and NOT by Sight, Live by Faith and NOT by Sight.”
